Day 276 - Happy Hour

Cheater day - and this picture is from back at the beginning of the project when I was out celebrating the birthdays of two good friends!

Day 273 - Memories

My mom sent me a box of various memories from when I was growing up - baby books, school report cards, pictures! These are a few of the pictures from my younger (and much cuter) days!

Day 260 - Retro Mirror

Sometimes you end up with the most unusual things to photograph when it's late and you just need to find something! This is actually the insert of a set of picture frames that I bought - I loved the old school camera!

Day 247 - Desert Hike

I seem to have some issues getting pictures taken when I'm off work. Missed another day, so this is a shot from our last day in Arizona while we were hiking. This area has some neat hieroglyphics on the rocks.

Day 246 - Big Kids

A day out sledding with the kids - some bigger than others! Fun was had by all and much hot chocolate enjoyed afterwards!

Day 242 - Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to All! Well I took a few pictures of the turkey, but they just weren't cutting it, so I had to move into my family shots. As you can see, I'm actually in this picture, but technically I did still take it as I set the timer and clicked the button! This was the Bauman clan (and their significant others) that were able to make it to Arizona for Christmas and to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday!

Day 238 - Contemplation

We were out visiting my mom for Christmas and we spent a day hiking in Red Rock Canyon just outside of Las Vegas. It was a beautiful day for hiking - just a little brisk. We were walking back on one of the trails and I saw this guy just sitting and looking out at the beautiful view. He looked so peaceful - reflecting, contemplating.

Day 229 - Santa's Helper

We made our way out to the Santa Rampage (our 2nd annual) this morning. This is an awesome Milwaukee event (kind of an underground idea that went viral) where a couple hundred people dress up like Santa (or elves or the like) and ride their bikes across town stopping at 5 or so bars along the way! Todd and Mark and I heard about it last year and had to check it out. It was so much fun to watch that it has now become an annual event. Maybe next year we will even ride in it! After the fun, we grab lunch at El Ray. That night we join up with Ray and head out to see the Miller Valley Christmas lights then down to Cathedral Square for more lights!

Day 211 - Reflections & Silhouettes

Ray and I were at the Milwaukee Art Museum to see the Andy Warhol exhibit and I took a few shots in the Calatrava entry room. I just love the overall feel of this photo.

Day 197 - Monkey!

I just loved these slippers that I found at Target a few weeks ago - so I bought them. A week later I convinced Ray that he needed a pair too! We would have bought Connor a pair, but they didn't have kids sizes (he got Spiderman slippers instead).

Day 145 - The Tasting Room

Again from our trip to California, this is the tasting room at Quivira Winery and my boys Mark and Todd. I liked the perspective of the glasses as the focus of the picture, with the people more in the background.

Day 118 - Amusement

In the week of and after my last vacation, I got very behind on my postings (and even missed a few days here and there). After I thought I had caught up, I was reviewing all my posts and realized that I still had one missing - and it was a day that I did not get a picture in. So because it was bothering me that I was technically a day behind, I'm posting my final make-up picture. This is from a little amusement park called Bay Beach in Green Bay. All tickets are a quarter and rides either take 1 or 2 tickets - great park for smaller children! I was playing around with motion in this shot - I really liked how the 4 or 5 people in the lower center are almost in focus while the rest are a blur. I did some editing in PS related to curves and the brightness levels.

Day 115 - Self Portrait

Mini theme this week of me taking pictures of me. Nothing overly exciting about this one - just something different to do!

Day 114 - Hands

Trying to find some new and interesting things take pictures of - I settled with my hands tonight! I thought the depth of field on this pic was interesting.

Day 108 - Cousins

As I mentioned earlier, this week has been slow on the creative juices - as well as the time to get photos in. Today is another cheater day. This was a pic from Fathers Day weekend that I jut loved - I tried it in black and white, but liked it even more in the subdued colors.

Day 100 - Cheers to Finishing!

Day 100!!! Can you believe it?! And it just so happened to fall on the day that I ran my first half marathon! Not only did I finish it - but I did it in under 2 hours (1:59:18:06 to be exact) which was my stretch goal! The last mile I wasn't sure I was going to make it - but I did! I realize this is a very similar pic from Friday - but we all deserved a big cheers for our finish! There was a wine tasting at the end of the race - it was fun!

Day 98 - Cheers to Vacation

We officially began our vacation today! We flew in to San Francisco this morning and once we got our rental car (which is a story all in itself), we journeyed into the city before making our way to wine country. We had lunch at a favorite called Frjtz's for some nummy sandwiches and a few pints of Hoegaarden. This is our "cheers" to the start of a fantastic vacation!

Day 79 - Tri-ing Something New

For those of you who have been following my blog regularly - you know that I had my very first triathlon today! Of course I had to take my camera (maybe a bad idea - but I HAD to). I took a number of pictures before the race started - then took my camera back to the car. This is the back of my leg - they write your age on your calf (no clear reason why - I never saw anyone really checking my calf) so of course I had to take some pictures of it. I liked the perspective of this one with the rest of my equipment in the transition area. It also fits the blue theme as my shirt and the towel are blue!

Day 63 - First Dance

I attended Tiffany and Jim's wedding on Friday and was able to take a few pictures.  This opportunity reinforced how horrible I am taking pictures in low light.  I still haven't figured out the external flash, and my built is just doesn't do that great.  Anyhow, knowing that I was not going to be getting tack sharp photos inside, I just went with the fun of the movement.  This was one of my favorites of their first dance.
